Realistic 1984

The year is 1984, and the world stares as nuclear missiles are posed at one another across the English Channel. Or that's what it used to be called. These days, the government of 'Oceania' insists on calling it the Oceanian Channel.

After World War II, the U.S. came under a string of hugely isolationist Presidents who pulled out of Europe, and only intervened very late in World War III. During World War III, the French Socialist Republic and the USSR nuked their ways towards each other and united. Eurasia was created. Britain, collapsed and became an absolutely psychotic gulags and surveillance North Korea-like state named Oceania.

Initially, nobody recognized Oceania. But in the last few months, the U.S. (now eager to become an international leader again, after its own enlargement out of neighboring countries) concluded several secret treaties with Oceania, and it is now clear that American Nuclear Weapons are posed from Oceania at Eurasia. Many wonder why the U.S. would work with such a batshit crazy government, and several "Britains in exile" are openly attacking the alliance with the Devil. At any rate, though it is a much huger threat to America, the Eurasians are much less crazy, and more true to Marxian Socialism than OTL, although most people are poor.

In the Back of everyone's minds, are the Crazed and fanatic Hindu and Buddhist based Death-Worship cults that have taken power in East Asia. The Eastasians are already in a slow-moving war, with the Eurasians, in Siberia...
