Azoth 7

(Based off the GURPS world) In a world where Isaac Newton's work on motion proved futile, but his work on Alchemy started the Alchemical Revolution (rather than an industrial one), armies now harness the might of magic and angels (angels, it turns out, are both good and bad, and are not all Christians). The four nations who were able to harness the powers of the Philosopher's stone (which made gold worthless the 18th century, but then as people realized it increased the strength of magic, became the most valuable element again in the 19th) are the Brittano-Dutch Commonwealth (One King, Two Parliaments), Spain, Prussia, and Venice. The Centuries have peaceful between these powers, as each one could destroy the other. After the 50 years war (a really dragged out War of the Spanish Succession) ended in a fantastic flop for France, these powers have expanded across the globe. After the Indian Wars of the 20th Century, each of the four agreed to support the newly created Indian Kingdom.
